Burress Advisory Group offers training programs to those individuals whose employers have determined to their employee(s) to be hazmat employees according to the US Department of Transportation.
DOT Requirements for This Training
According to DOT, hazmat employees require a systematic program that ensures a hazmat employee has familiarity with the general provisions of this subchapter (referring to Subpart H of 49CFR), is able to recognize and identify hazardous materials, has knowledge of specific requirements of this subchapter applicable to functions performed by the employee, and has knowledge of emergency response information, self-protection measures, and accident prevention methods and procedures (see 172.704).
These employees require General Awareness/Familiarization training, Function-specific training, and Safety training. This subpart also identifies recurrent training requirements for these employees.
These courses shall meet or exceed all requirements of 49CFR172.700.
